Brand blocking allows brands to block their ads from showing up in certain locations and mediums.
By creating a list of blocked companies, you can ensure that your ads do not display for potential customers on sites you would rather not be seen.
What Can You Block?
You can block consumers from seeing your ads on the Audience Network, Reels, Instant articles, In-stream, or Video ads.

You can also block your ads from showing up on apps as well.
Why Use Facebook Block Lists?
There are a few reasons why brands might want to use Facebook block lists.
The first reason is brand safety. Ensuring that your ad is blocked from certain placements can protect you from being associated with unsavory or offensive content.
The second reason is negative publicity. For example, if there is a controversy surrounding a particular page or app, you may want to block it to avoid being associated with the negativity.
The third reason is privacy. By blocking certain pages and apps, you can ensure that your ads are not seen by people who you would prefer not to see them.
How To Add A Block List To Your Facebook Business Manager Account
Setting up a Facebook block list is simple.
There are two ways to do this.
You can block brands by adding Facebook pages to a spreadsheet and uploading this to Facebook manually.
To do this go to the block list tab.

Select the green, "Create Block List" button in the top right corner.

You can then upload a spreadsheet of Facebook Business Pages to block.

If you need help you can download a sample sheet.

If you don't know what brands to block you can go to the Publisher list tab. Select a placement.

Then scroll the list of publishers for your placement and manually prevent your Facebook ads from showing up on that page.

Check the box for every publisher you would like to have your Facebook ads NOT show up on.
