Here's a step-by-step guide on how to use this AI tool for optimizing your ad copy.


Step 1: Tell Chat GPT How To Approach Your Problem


I like to start by feeding Chat GPT a statement like, "Act like a Facebook marketer who needs to create copy for a Facebook ad". This gives Chat GPT a clear understanding of what it needs to do.


Step 2: Define Your Ad Goals And Audience


The next step before you start creating Facebook ad copy is to define your ad goals and target audience. Are you aiming to increase brand awareness, drive traffic to your website, or boost sales? Who are you trying to reach? Having clear answers to these questions will guide the ad copy creation process.

Consider adding the following prompt to Chat GPT like...


This Facebook ad copy is promoting ____ to (target audience), which will help reach the goal of _____ (goal).


Step 3: Add In Your Hook


I've developed a Facebook Video ad testing template for my Facebook ads. In this post we discuss 7 different hooks you can use in your Facebook ads.


In your prompt add in the hook of your choice. For example, if you choose to be humourous you might say...


Make this ad humorous. Here is an example of past ad copy that we have written, make it similar to this ad copy.


Step 4: Generate Multiple Versions Of The Facebook Ad Copy


Once you've given Chat GPT an understanding of your problem and goals, it's time to start generating ad copy. Start by having Chat GPT generate several different versions of ad copy.

This allows you to test different approaches and see what works best. Once the copy is generated you may find that you need to edit the copy generated do so to ensure it fits your brand.


You can then run A/B tests with different versions of your ad copy, analyze the results, and choose the most effective version for your campaign.


Step 5: Repeat the Process


No Facebook Ad copy is eternal. As you continue to run Facebook ads and gather data, you'll gain more insights into what works and what doesn't. Keep using Chat GPT to generate new ad copy, test different versions, and refine your approach based on the results.
