In this post, we will cover everything you need to know about sharing audiences on Facebook.
As it gets harder to track Facebook ads, shared audiences can be the perfect option to expand your reach and targeting.
What Are Custom And Lookalike Audiences And How Do They Work?
Custom audiences are groups of people who have already engaged with your business in some way.
This could be through an email list, website traffic, app activity, or even offline interactions.
A Lookalike audience is a type of custom audience that is built based on a custom audience like your email list or website traffic.
With a Lookalike audience, Facebook uses its algorithm to find Facebook users who look like your original custom audiences.
Creating A Custom Audience From A list Of Email Addresses
There are two types of audiences you can create. The first is based on the Facebook pixel (Now called "Meta Pixel"). The second is based on data sources you own.
One of the primary reasons to share audiences with partners is because of the lack of matching data the pixel now has.
For this reason, I would recommend using a data source you own like your email list as this will be your most valuable list you own.
If you need help creating your audience you can read our post on that.
Share Custom Audience: Facebook Business Manager
To share audiences you will need to go to your Facebook business manager -> Audiences -> Share.

Once you have selected your audience and hit the share button you will need to choose who to share with.

Enter the ad account IDs. If there are multiple ad accounts you wish to share this audience with you will need to do this one at a time.

You can find your ad account ID in the upper right-hand corner of your business manager.

You can view any shared audience in your business settings under data sources.
